During your first consultation with our plastic surgeon Dr Colin Tham, he will focus on learning your needs and goals for undergoing a rhinoplasty. It is important to communicate your desired results and raise any questions you have about the procedure.
Dr Tham will assess your facial features in relation to your nose and its structure, before personalising a rhinoplasty treatment for you.
The rhinoplasty will be performed in our modern and fully-equipped clinic. It will be done under either local or general anaesthesia depending on the type of procedure.
Closed or open rhinoplasty, Dr Tham has vast experience and proficiency in both. Dr Tham and our medical team take great care in tailoring and planning each procedure, so as to ensure you leave the clinic with the desired results and minimal discomfort - this includes not using any nose packing post-surgery.
After the rhinoplasty, you will experience some swelling and bruising. Medication will be prescribed to alleviate the discomfort. The majority of our patients return to work within 10 days, with most swelling going away in about two weeks.
As with most reconstructive and plastic surgeries, you are recommended not to take part in strenuous activities. After rhinoplasty, you should also avoid exerting any force over the nose including wearing of heavy glasses.
Although most swelling and bruising would have subsided in the weeks post-surgery, the full recovery of your nose will take around 6 months.
